Job Description:
Jackpot Harvesting is a family owned and operated agricultural grower and harvester of premium quality vegetables located in Gonzales.
L&J Farms is seeking a Payroll Clerk to process weekly payroll for all field and packing facilities.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Compile payroll data such as hours worked, sales or piecework to calculate gross wages.
Accurate deduction of appropriate taxes and health insurance.
Processing of high-volume weekly payroll.
Record changes affecting net wages such as exemptions, insurance coverage, and loan payments for each employee.
Maintain accuracy in the payroll system and employee files for all deductions.
Record data concerning transfer of employees between departments.
Prepare periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions.
Prepare paychecks in a bilingual setting.
Process and pay weekly garnishments to the appropriate agency Process New Hire Applications Process Workers Compensation and Unemployment Filings Assist in answering phones Responding to walk-up requests from Employees General Filing Create payroll data reports for management.
Reconcile all payroll reports.
Reports directly to Office Manager Education:
2 years of payroll processing experience with an Agricultural background preferred.
Bilingual/Conversational Spanish is required.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, and Famous software experience a plus.
Skills:
Must be able to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
Must be able to write correspondence.
Must be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Must be bilingual - English/Spanish.
